Rucker Residence

Status: Completed 2010
Type: Single-Family Residence, Historic

Located on historic Rucker Avenue, this craftsman style home from the early 1900’s was rebuilt from the studs and fully updated, including the addition of 10 feet on the back, and a wraparound porch.
The home did not have a foundation and only half the lower floor space was usable. In the process of capturing additional square footage, the east half was dug out and turned into conditioned, livable space. The entire structure was floated to add an additional two feet in headroom in the basement.
At the main level, two rooms were converted into a professional kitchen with a wraparound porch. Historic features were maintained throughout.
The upper floor addition allowed for a full master suite and additional laundry room.
Existing doors and headers were saved and refinished. All work was in-keeping with the original 1909 character. Owing to its location in the historic Rucker neighborhood of Everett, WA., extra care was taken during design and construction to retain and enhance the beautiful craftsman features found all around the exterior as well as throughout the interior.
